How to use video versioning in Kreatli

Follow these steps to upload video versions, compare them side by side, and upload new versions as your cut evolves.

Step 1

Upload your video to a Kreatli project

Sign in to Kreatli, open your project, and upload your first video. The file appears in the Media view and becomes version 1 (v1). You can add new versions anytime from the same asset.

Step 2

Open the 3-dot menu and upload a new version

In the Media view, open the 3-dot menu (⋯) on the video and choose Upload new version. The new file is added to the same asset as the next version (v2, v3, etc.) so all cuts stay in one place with full history.

Open file menu and choose Upload new version in Kreatli Media view
Step 3

Manage the version stack

Open the version stack from the header (click the version label, e.g. v1) or via Manage versions in the file menu. See all versions with thumbnails and file sizes, reorder by dragging, set which version is Active, and switch between versions from one place.

Step 4

Compare two versions side by side

Select two video versions in the Media view and click Compare to open them side by side. Each version shows its filename, size, status, and a preview with playback controls so you can spot frame-level differences and track feedback per version.

How Video Versioning Works

Version history, side-by-side comparison, and one-click uploads keep your video versioning simple and traceable.

Version History

Every video you upload as a new version stays in the same project. Video versioning keeps a clear history so you always know which cut is current and can compare or revert as needed.

Side-by-Side Compare

Select two video versions and compare them side by side with synced timelines. Spot frame-level differences and see feedback on either version in one view.

Upload New Version

One click from the file menu to upload a new version. The new cut appears in the same project so you can compare with the previous version and keep review going without losing context.

Feedback Tied to Versions

Comments and annotations stay linked to the version they were added on. Video versioning in Kreatli keeps feedback organized so you know what was addressed in which cut.

Resolution Across Versions

Mark feedback resolved as you address it in new versions. Track what's done and what's pending across revision rounds so nothing gets missed.

Share the Right Version

Share review links for the version you want clients to see. When you upload a new version, you control who gets access so everyone stays on the same cut.
